How dangerous is bleeding gums and what can be done about it?
Severe redness of the gums and bleeding gums are warning signs of early periodontitis. Periodontitis is a disease of the periodontium, which includes the gums, periodontal ligament, and jawbone. Studies have shown that over 80% of the population suffers from diseases of the periodontium. After the age of 40, this causes more teeth to be lost than tooth decay. Periodontitis develops when bacterial plaque becomes inflamed. The gums become red, swollen, and bleed. This leads to increasingly deep inflamed gum pockets. Eventually, the gums and jawbone recede. How does teeth whitening work?
During bleaching, a peroxide in varying concentrations is applied to the tooth surface, usually only in the front teeth area, in the form of strips, trays, or gel. An oxidation-reduction reaction, in which water is released, makes the tooth lighter in color.
How often should I have my teeth professionally cleaned each year?
Professional teeth cleaning is recommended twice a year. For patients with periodontitis, 3-4 times a year is advisable.
Are bad teeth hereditary?
There is no hereditary predisposition in this sense, but there is a genetic disposition that characterizes the composition of the hard tooth substance. However, poor oral hygiene and poor nutrition, e.g., too much sugar, are much more decisive factors in the development of caries.
Is root canal treatment painful?
With today's anesthetics and painkillers, pain can be safely eliminated. Existing pain is often only eliminated by root canal treatment, after which the tooth may still be sensitive as a result of the treatment.
What is the prognosis for root canal treatment?
The success rate of this treatment is reported to be over 80%, but this depends on the initial conditions and the complexity of the cases. However, it should be noted that the high success rates can only be achieved through the consistent use of the latest treatment methods and techniques.

How does implant placement work and how safe are implant-supported dentures?
Regardless of whether you have lost one, several, or even all of your teeth, implants offer you a wide range of customized solutions. Different implant sizes and variants enable optimal restoration of your dental condition.
The implant is inserted into the jawbone under local anesthesia in 95% of cases. The implant is surrounded by bone and can be loaded after a few months and fitted with the appropriate construction. To achieve long-term success, optimal oral hygiene must be ensured before each implantation. This is achieved through a professional prophylaxis program. If necessary, more comprehensive dental restoration measures or regeneration and reconstruction treatments of the jawbone may also be necessary in order to create optimal conditions for implantation.
How long does an implant last?
Absolutely for a lifetime, if the implants are performed by experienced dentists. Furthermore, the patient's cooperation and extremely thorough oral hygiene are also important prerequisites.
How long does it take to place an implant?
Approximately 1 hour, including preparation and subsequent inspection.
Is it possible for an implant to be rejected by the body?
